Public health awareness campaign during the Novel coronavirus outbreak

The year 2020 was filled with hopes and new beginnings, until just by the start we heard the outbreak of a virus in China and the fact that it was noted by the WHO as a novel virus. Novel means a new virus, and this also meant that this particular virus as it was new had no vaccine or cure. Everyone was still not sure of how the virus reacted, stayed, and its traits.

Later by March beginning we knew that this was a pandemic situation and it was hitting the whole world, thousands of them were dying, millions were getting affected by the COVID 19 virus. As the virus spread grew larger, various ways of keeping away from the virus came into being. Few amongst all being:

  • Washing hands with a disinfectant soap for 20 seconds
  • Cleaning hands using an alcohol-based sanitizer
  • Covering nose and mouth using a cloth or preferably a mask
  • Practicing social distancing and not coming in close contacts with anyone
  • Keeping the home and nearby areas hygienic

All these were precautionary measures and in India, by early February we had no or few cases until the numbers started to increase by the 2nd week of march and then kept on increasing.
One of the core values of Avadhesh Dental Studio is giving back to society, we did our part to prove the same.

Our core values reflect us and what is truly important to us as an organization

RESPONSIBILITY & GIVING BACK

  • We consider it our responsibility to give you the best treatment and to educate you on dental hygiene habits as well as about your dental problem.
  • We hold responsibility towards ourselves, our team, and the community.
  • To give back good dental health to society completes the circle of our core values.

On 20th March 2020 team Avadhesh Dental Studio in association with Yi Rajkot team and in support with tea villa café team, Hilla organization and the core team of Young India organization with the support of RMC (Rajkot Municipal Corporation) and approval from the government, we made a poster in helping the society prevent the spread of coronavirus.

These posters were printed in a size of 12”x18” and placed on the lobby or entrance area of most of the flats, society and housing colonies of the city. This initiative was taken to educate the society on and about the virus as well as to spread the knowledge on how should a person take care of. It also showed the usual signs and symptoms of an infected person making self-assessment easy.

It definitely helped society in becoming aware and helped them to know the facts well.
